Time Management


Having the experience of working with two established companies, I often feel like I am racing against time. The application of time management is of extreme importance to me. The way I choose to utilize my time, results in the kind of progress I am able to achieve at work. We often feel like we need more time in order to accomplish all our set targets. My opinion is; we have a set amount of time and it will not increase, this remains a fact. But, we can always plan and utilize our time in such a way that we are able to accommodate and achieve all our targets in the required frame of time.

All these years of working in the corporate grind has made it clear to me that it is all about working in a smart way and not blindly doing things that do not help you to reach your goals. Making the best possible use of time is clearly about how you can smartly use it to your benefit. Understanding that it is not about the amount of time you spend working or the amount of work you do. It is about the amount of progress your work is helping you to make, irrespective of how long you spend doing them. Time used to do things that do not add value is an absolute waste.

Another aspect that you need to keep in mind is the fact that planning is the best possible option when you need to make the most of all the time available to you. When we are able to clearly plan each and everything that needs to be done, we make the most of the time available. We will no longer waste time, thinking about what needs to be done next, which task is most essential, and similar questions.

It is very essential to understand that time is not something that is out of our control. The moment we begin to control time by utilizing each and every moment available to us, we are going to be able to stop feeling the time crunch. We simply need to take initiative to make the most of all the time we have and be mindful about the activities we choose to do.
